Transverse correlation vanishing due to phase aberrations

چکیده
The concept of transverse correlation vanishing, between the fraction of power contained in the centre and wings of a probe beam, recently introduced [Opt. Commun. 282 (2009) 38543858] is important to be considered when measuring the effective focal length of any refractive index profile. When the latter is not parabolic it is shown that the transverse correlation could vanishe, and this represents a potential source of error when measuring any lensing effect. We propose a low cost set-up (two photodiodes, a pinhole and a stop) able to reveal if the probe beam has monitored a pure or an aberrated lensing effect especially when it is time-dependent. Vortex flow and transverse flux screening at the bose glass transition
We study the vortex phase diagram in untwinned YBCO crystals with columnar defects. These randomly distributed defects are expected to induce a "Bose glass" phase of localized vortices exhibiting a vanishing resistance and Meissner effect for magnetic fields H( perpendicular) transverse to the columns. We directly observe the transverse Meissner effect using a Hall probe array. As predicted, th...
متن کاملHigher Order Correlations in Computed Particle Distributions
The rms emittances calculated for beam distributions using computer simulations are frequently dominated by higher order aberrations. Thus there are substantial open areas in the phase space plots. It has long been observed that the rms emittance is not an invariant to beam manipulations. The usual emittance calculation removes the correlation between transverse displacement and transverse mome...
متن کاملSubaperture translation estimation accuracy in transverse translation diversity phase retrieval.
For optical metrology by transverse translation diversity phase retrieval (or ptychography), information theoretic limits on the ability to estimate subaperture translation, essential for accurate metrology, are assessed as a function of the optical aberrations of the system being measured. Special attention is given to the case that an unknown linear phase aberration, or equivalent detector or...

Background and purpose : Ït is clearly shown that ionising radiations induce various kinds of DNÂ damages majority of which as sub-lethal damages, are repaired but still some of them are left urepaired and lead to chromosomal aberrations. These chromosomal aberrations in radiation workers, who are occupationally exposed to radiation, could be assayed with cytogenetic evaluation methods. These c...

Background and Objective: Hybrid cells are made from fusion of two or more somatic cells. After formation chromosomes are located in one membrane . . So nucleic condition of each fused cell has changes and two genomes and chromosomes interact with each other. Locating the genes in new nucleic and cytoplasmic condition and great chromosomal rearrangement in these new formed cells can affect th...
